Discipline 28. Wand Specialization 2/2, Twin Disciplines 5/5, Silent Resolve 1/3, Improved Power Word: Shield 3/3, Mental Agility 3/3, Inner Focus 1/1, Meditation 3/3, Mental Strength 5/5, Soul Warding 1/1, Penance 1/1, Divine Aegis 3/3.

Holy 23. Improved Renew 3/3, Holy Specialization 5/5, Divine Fury 5/5, Inspiration 3/3, Improved Healing 3/3, Binding Heal 1/1, Spiritual Guidance 3/5.

Shadow 0.

Talents. The priest trainer in Undercity wipes the tree. The first wipe is 1 gold, the next is 5, then it climbs by 5 gold up to 50. Leave it alone and it falls by 5 gold a month, down to 15. A second saved spec is the Wrath feature: level 40, 1,000 gold, then free swaps. Forever has not announced that. Use this tree until a dungeon build is worth a wipe. Holy and Discipline at 60 are Holy Priest PVE and Disc Priest PVE. Which heal rank to cast is in Priest Healing Efficiency.

Notes from beta

Bars and client

Mount

Forever. The gold is in the riding training, not in a separate horse. Designers said it costs 100 gold, or 1,000 gold for the faster tier, and the first mount comes with the skill. For this character that is a skeletal horse. Do not also buy one from the vendor. In Classic the Undead trainer stood in Brill, the 100 gold tier was level 40, and the 1,000 gold tier was level 60. Those levels were not restated. Save the 100 gold before Krol’dok.

Wands

Leave the warlock at the first wand. A level 5 can train Enchanting to 75, and the only other recipe inside that cap is Greater Magic Wand, 17.5 dps. Sizzle Stick matches it, and Cookie’s Stirring Rod beats it. The mystic wands need the warlock at 20, and neither beats Gravestone Scepter.

  1. Lesser Magic Wand. The level 5 warlock. Green. 12–22 Arcane, 11.3 dps. This is the starting wand, so you are not waiting on a drop.
  2. Sizzle Stick. Wailing Caverns quest, Deviate Eradication. Green. 21–39 Fire, 17.6 dps. Take the wand.
  3. Firebelcher. Deviate Faerie Dragon, a rare in Wailing Caverns. Rare. 24–45 Fire, 20.3 dps. Roll it if he is up. It replaces Sizzle Stick until Cookie.
  4. Cookie’s Stirring Rod. Cookie, on the Deadmines ship. Green. 20–38 Arcane, 22.3 dps. Better than Sizzle Stick and Firebelcher.
  5. Gravestone Scepter. Blackfathom Villainy. Rare. 30–57 Shadow, 29 dps. Take the wand. It holds until the Graveyard rare, or the level 41 vendor wand.
  6. Necrotic Wand. Azshir the Sleepless, a rare in the Scarlet Monastery graveyard. Rare. 32–61 Shadow, 33.2 dps. Only one of the three rares is up. Roll it if Azshir is the one.
  7. Blackbone Wand. Buy it at 41 from Katis in Orgrimmar or Zane Bradford in the Undercity. 39–74 Shadow, 35.3 dps. Under 4 gold. It replaces Gravestone and Necrotic Wand.
  8. Flaming Incinerator. Sandarr Dunereaver, a rare in the Zul’Farrak graveyard. Rare. 59–111 Fire, 47.2 dps. Roll it if he is up. It replaces Blackbone until Noxious Shooter.
  9. Noxious Shooter. Noxxion, Maraudon. Rare. 56–104 Nature, 50 dps. Requires 46.
  10. Rod of Corrosion. Shade of Eranikus, Sunken Temple. Rare. 50–93 Nature, 55 dps. Requires 51.
  11. Mana Channeling Wand. Cho’Rush the Observer, Dire Maul North. 68–127 Frost, 60.9 dps, and 4 mana per 5. Requires 56.
  12. Bonecreeper Stylus. Darkmaster Gandling, Scholomance. Rare. 83–155 Arcane, 62.6 dps, and +11 damage and healing. Requires 57. This is the healer wand.
  13. Skul’s Ghastly Touch. Skul, a rare in the live side of Stratholme. Rare. +14 shadow damage. Requires 52.

Leveling guide

Dungeon quests are the experience. Kills inside a dungeon give reduced experience, so pick up every Horde quest for the run before the group zones in. Clear those, then leave for the next dungeon once you are in its band. Each dungeon also awards account-wide Legacy Points.

How to read a stop

Quests under each stop

Bonus experience

Four boosts. Start the food at level 5. The sleeping bag is the detour after Ruins of Lordaeron. The rested Legacy point waits until the first Legacy point, which is level 25 on this route.

The food and the rested bar add to kill experience. They do not add to quest turn-ins. Dungeon kills are already reduced, so the food is a small bonus on those and on anything you kill outdoors. The sleeping bag is the one described as bonus experience in general, so it is the one that still matters when most of your experience is dungeon quests.

  1. Sleeping bag. After Ruins of Lordaeron, before Wailing Caverns. The detour is below. Stand on it outdoors and do not move. 1% per minute, up to 3%. Forever lists a 1-hour cooldown. Logging out while you are asleep on it has counted as an inn, so the rested bar fills without hearthing. The chain also gives Student Fodder, food that grants rested experience. That fodder is the fourth boost. Eat it when you are about to kill things, not when you are only turning quests in.
  2. Cooked food. Blizzard said almost all crafted food adds a small experience buff on top of its stat, and that the buff is experience from kills. One demo dish was 5% from kills, gained by sitting still and eating for 10 seconds, lasting about 15 minutes. That 5% is the example, not a confirmed number on every recipe. Cheap fish still counts. There is no level cap on the buff, so the same low food works at 60.
  3. Well Rested. One Legacy point buys one rank: rested experience fills 4% faster, and the cap is 4% higher. Five ranks is 20%, and that takes five points. It does not add 4% to a kill by itself. It stores more of the rested bar, and rested doubles kill experience until the bar is empty. You cannot spend it until the Legacy window unlocks. The first point is level 25, or 150 skill in a non-gathering primary profession, or exploring the whole world. Herbalism does not count. Cooking does not count. Alchemy does, and so do the warlock’s Tailoring and Enchanting, but pushing any of those to 150 is slower than letting the priest reach 25. On this route that is around Shadowfang Keep and Blackfathom Deeps. One rank is all you get from that level. Later points are level 45, level 60, profession 150, and clearing the early dungeon set.

How to cook the food. Fishing, not hunting. After 14 you are not killing for meat. Two breaks stock it. A gray recipe still makes the food, and the buff has no level cap, so the same fish works at 60. Sit and eat for 10 seconds before a dungeon or any fight. Keep a stack on you. Park extra fish on the warlock.

Level 5. Brightwater Lake. When The Great Outdoors sends you to train Cooking, also train Fishing. The warlock wand takes the same elevator into Undercity. Train First Aid on that trip. The potions are in Healing potions, below.

Clyde Kellen is on the southwest shore of Brightwater Lake, about 67, 51. Buy a pole from him. Train Cooking from Eunice Burch in the Trade Quarter, about 62, 44. She teaches Brilliant Smallfish and Charred Wolf Meat at skill 1.

Fish the lake and Stillwater Pond, south of Brill, until Fishing is 25 and you have one stack of cooked Brilliant Smallfish. Tirisfal open water stops being mostly junk at that skill. Cook the Raw Brilliant Smallfish and the darkhound meat you already save. The lakes also throw Sickly Looking Fish. Those do not cook. Vendor them. Bank any Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper. The recipe for those waits until Orgrimmar.

On the road outside Undercity, buy Recipe: Slitherskin Mackerel from Martine Tramblay for 40 copper. Zansoa in Sen’jin Village sells the same scroll if you missed her. Mackerel is the coastal fish, on the north shore of Tirisfal and on the Durotar shore when you pass it for Ragefire. Cook one if you hook it. Skip a separate trip to the beach.

The second break is the Orgrimmar pond, under Ragefire Chasm. After that, when the cooked stack is down to one, fish that pond again, or a Barrens oasis you are already visiting. The catch is the same. Cook Longjaw Mud Snapper. Leave Fishing at 75. Stranglethorn and Tanaris are junk at that skill, and a gray Longjaw still carries the buff.

Banked Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish cooks at Cooking 100 into a bigger heal. The experience buff stays the same. Kilxx in Ratchet sells Recipe: Bristle Whisker Catfish. Learn it when you are already in Ratchet and Cooking is 100.

Healing potions

Healing potions are First Aid. Alchemy still makes the elixirs. First Aid is a secondary profession, so it does not take the Herbalism or Alchemy slot. The ranks and the reagents are from the First Aid guide, checked against the recipe pages. A recipe stays orange until the yellow skill, and orange is the one that raises skill on every craft. Gray raises nothing.

Level 5. Undercity. Same elevator as Cooking.

Mary Edras is in the Rogues’ Quarter, about 73.6, 55.6. Train Apprentice First Aid for 1 silver. Learn Minor Healing Potion from her on that visit, another 1 silver. The First Aid guide lists that potion at skill 1. If it is not on her list yet, make Linen Bandage until 40, then Heavy Linen Bandage until 55, and learn the potion then. One linen, then two. Use cloth you already looted. The Scarlet camps drop it. Buy Mild Spices from Eunice Burch while you are at the cooking trainer. She also sells Hot Spices. Buy Empty Vial from Daniel Bartlett in the Trade Quarter. He sells Leaded Vial too. Buy those when the recipe asks for them. A short stack of vials and spices is enough to carry between cities.

How to skill it. Craft when the herbs are already in the bags. Make the orange potion until the herbs or the vials run out, and keep one stack of the best potion you can make. Drink from that stack. Make another when it is down to a few. Leave the rest of the herbs for Alchemy. Do not buy herbs to grind, and do not stop the dungeon route for First Aid.

Train the next rank when you are already in a city. Apprentice stops at 75. At skill 50, train Journeyman for 5 silver. On the Ragefire trip that is Arnok, Valley of Spirits, Orgrimmar, about 34, 84.4. Mary Edras and Pand Stonebinder in Thunder Bluff teach the same rank. Journeyman stops at 150.

At skill 125, Expert First Aid - Under Wraps raises the cap to 225. It costs 1 gold. Horde buys it from Balai Lok’Wein in Brackenwall Village, about 36.4, 30.4. The Alcaz stop is the planned visit. If the skill is already 125, buy the book and use it before you leave the camp. If you cap at 150 before that trip, keep making the potion you drink, and wait for Brackenwall. Do not ride to the marsh early.

At skill 225, and only once you are level 35, Artisan raises the cap to 300. The quest is Triage, from Doctor Gregory Victor in Hammerfall, about 73.4, 36.8. Horde Trauma from Arnok points at him. Take it when a trip already goes through Arathi.

Recipes. Switch when the next one opens. That one is orange, and the old one is about to stop paying skill.

  1. Minor Healing Potion. Skill 1, from the trainer. 1 Peacebloom, 1 Mild Spices, 1 Empty Vial. Yellow at 55, green at 75, gray at 95.
  2. Lesser Healing Potion. Skill 55, from the trainer, 1 silver 50 copper. 1 Briarthorn, 2 Mild Spices, 1 Empty Vial. Yellow at 85, green at 105, gray at 125.
  3. Healing Potion. Skill 110, from the trainer, 8 silver. 1 Bruiseweed, 1 Hot Spices, 1 Leaded Vial. Yellow at 135, green at 155, gray at 175.
  4. Greater Healing Potion. Skill 155, from Manual: Greater Healing Potion. Needs the Expert cap. 1 Liferoot, 3 Hot Spices, 1 Leaded Vial. Yellow at 175, green at 195, gray at 215. The First Aid guide has not named who sells this manual.
  5. Superior Healing Potion. Skill 215, from Manual: Superior Healing Potion. 1 Sungrass, 1 Soothing Spices, 1 Crystal Vial. Yellow at 230, green at 250, gray at 270. The seller is not named yet either. Gray at 270, and the next book is 275, so those five points come from any bandage that is still not gray. Do not buy cloth for them.
  6. Major Healing Potion. Skill 275, from Manual: Major Healing Potion. Pexmit in Mount Hyjal sells it for 8 gold. Needs the Artisan cap. 1 Golden Sansam, 3 Soothing Spices, 1 Crystal Vial. Yellow at 290, green at 310. Buy the manual when you are already in Hyjal.

Library books

Twenty different books. Ten open a neck. Twenty open a ring, and the first ten count. The Forever note is here. The Season of Discovery list, Alliance spots included, is here. This route is the Horde twenty.

Beta. The neck and the ring are in the beta client. The books are world objects, and Forever has been leaving them where the mages used to find them. The Orgrimmar tablet and the scrolls by the Wailing Caverns portal are confirmed on the beta. Players have checked the Sepulcher table, downstairs included, and found nothing.

The neck. The tenth book opens Friend of the Library. Take the Scholarly Pendant. Item level 25, +6 stamina and +4 spirit, no level requirement. The other neck is agility. Leave it. Wear this one through the teens. Shadowfang and Blackfathom are where a dungeon neck passes +4 spirit.

The ring. The twentieth book opens Greater Friend of the Library. Take Philanthropist’s Ring. Item level 40, +6 intellect, and +10 spell damage and healing. The strength ring is flagged rogue-only on the beta. A player at 17 was offered nothing, saw the quest grey at 19, and turned it in at 20. After that the ring has no level requirement. +10 healing is ahead of the rings from Wailing Caverns, the Deadmines, and Shadowfang. It comes off when a dungeon ring passes 10 healing. On this route that is the Scarlet Monastery stretch, in the 30s.

Finish all twenty before Shadowfang. Shadowfang goes at 22. The neck is the teens, and the ring is the piece you wear from 20 through the Scarlet Monastery stretch. The sleeping bag is the trip that already crosses the zones, so the higher camps are on that ride. The Hall of Thanes road crosses a few of the same zones at 14. Leave the books for the bag. You are lower on that first ride.

In a higher camp you are low. Click the object and get back on the road.

Owen Thadd takes them. Magic Quarter, Undercity, about 74, 32. He offers a book while it is in your bags. Each book is its own hand-in. Carry them. After the bag, hand the stack in on the way to the zeppelin. The tenth book is the neck. The ring is the same room at level 20, after books 19 and 20. Shadowfang is the ride south from there.

Skip the Alliance copies. Tower of Azora, the Hall of Explorers in Ironforge, and both inns that hold Rumi of Gnomeregan, Thelsamar and Sentinel Hill. Ataeric: On Arcane Curiosities is the empty table in the Sepulcher tomb, near Sebastian Meloche. If a book is there when you pass, it replaces whichever camp would not click.

  1. The Apothecary’s Metaphysical Primer. Brill, when you train Alchemy. The shelf beside Apothecary Johaan, about 59.5, 52. Same shop as Carolai.
  2. The Lessons of Ta’zo. Orgrimmar, the day you arrive for Ragefire. Valley of Spirits, about 38.7, 78.4. The large tablet by the Darkbriar Lodge sign. Trace it. Arnok stands in that valley if Journeyman First Aid is due. Confirmed on the beta.
  3. Arcanic Systems Manual. The ride south from Orgrimmar on the bag. Sludge Fen, about 56.3, 8.8, east of the road before the Crossroads. The manual is on a chair in the control room at the top of the oil rig. If the rig is red, click and leave.
  4. RwlRwlRwlRwl! After the burnt-tower click. The south fork enters Dustwallow Marsh (35–45). Witch Hill, about 57, 21. The waterlogged book is on the ground at the eastern edge of the murloc camp. Click it and leave. Brackenwall is the First Aid manual, later. This stop is the camp only.
  5. Geomancy: The Stone-Cold Truth. Same southern ride. Stay on the main road to the Great Lift and go down into Thousand Needles (25–35). Darkcloud Pinnacle, about 34, 40, inside the largest hut. The path up starts about 31, 37. Click the scrolls and leave.
  6. Fury of the Land. While you are at the lift. Grimtotem Post is in the hills just west, in Stonetalon Mountains, about 74.4, 85.7. Scrolls on a barrel inside a tent. The camp is the high end of a 15–27 zone. Click and leave. The Sun Rock clicks are a later step. Do this tent now.
  7. Baxtan: On Destructive Magics. Ratchet, before the boat. Goblin tome beside Gazlowe, about 62.7, 36.3, in the engineering building.
  8. Basilisks: Should Petrification be Feared? On the road north from Grom’gol. Crystalvein Mine, Stranglethorn Vale, about 41.5, 50.8. Research notes on the wooden platform to the right of the entrance. Leave the mine. The basilisks outside are 30s. Click and leave.
  9. Crimes Against Anatomy. Off the road through Duskwood. Raven Hill Crypt, about 16.7, 28.5. The spellbook is in the Dawning Wood Catacombs, last room, on the table at the far end. A reader found it there on 29 September 2026. The crypt is crowded and above you. If the table will not come up, use the spare below.
  10. Demons and You. After the Stonetalon camp clicks. South from Sun Rock through the Charred Vale, then west into Desolace (30–40). Thunder Axe Fortress, about 55, 28. The book is on a bench in the big building. Nijel’s Point, on the way in, is Alliance. Do not stop. Click and leave.
  11. The Dalaran Digest, Vol. 23. Southbound through Silverpine Forest, on the way to the dam. Ambermill, about 63.5, 63.1, east of the road. Bookshelf in the northeast corner of the main hall. This zone matches you. The hall is mages. The Sepulcher table is the Ataeric check, on this same pass.
  12. A Web of Lies: Debunking Myths and Legends. Still southbound, in Arathi Highlands, before the Wetlands. Witherbark Village, about 73, 65, the southeast. Scrolls outside a tent, toward the hut. The village is 30–40. Click and get back on the road. Hammerfall can wait. Triage is level 35.
  13. Goaz Scrolls. On the way to the dam. Whelgar’s Excavation Site, the Wetlands, about 33.6, 47.9. The scrolls are in an urn on the lowest level. The dungeon here is 24, which is past the ring, so the urn is now. The raptors are the high end of a 20–30 zone. Click and leave.
  14. Runes of the Sorcerer-Kings. From the dam, before you hearth. East along the north shore of Loch Modan. Mo’grosh Stronghold, about 77.5, 14.1. Scrolls in the ogre cave. The zone is 10–20. The ogres are the top of it.
  15. Mummies: A Guide to the Unsavory Undead. Same stop, before the hearth. South through Loch Modan. Thelsamar is Alliance. Do not stop. The tunnel past it enters the Badlands (35–45). The path up starts about 56, 45, and the scrolls are in the crypt about 57, 39. Click and ride back, then hearth.
  16. Defensive Magics 101. After the satchel, from Tarren Mill. North into Alterac Mountains (30–40). Gallows’ Corner, about 48.5, 57.6. The first tower of the ogre fortress, from the Tarren Mill road or from Strahnbrad. The manual is inside. Click and leave.
  17. Secrets of the Dreamers. Wailing Caverns, before you zone in. Enter the cave at the Lushwater Oasis, about 46, 36. The scrolls are in the Cavern of Mists, about 52.8, 54.7, by the portal. Confirmed on the beta. They are outside the instance.
  18. Bewitchments and Glamours. The Deadmines trip. First house on the left as you enter Moonbrook, about 45.4, 70.5. Spellbook on the bookshelf. Loot it before the mine. Sentinel Hill stays off the route.
  19. Nar’thalas Almanac, Vol. 74. Level 20, with the Ashenvale breadcrumb. West across Ashenvale into Darkshore (11–19). Ruins of Mathystra, about 59.6, 22.2, third landing down the stairs. Darkshore matches your level. Astranaar is Alliance. Do not stop.
  20. Everyday Etiquette. The same level-20 stop. East from Splintertree into Azshara. Haldarr Encampment, about 20.7, 62, on a crate beside the hut. The naga are well above you. Click and leave.

Spare. If a camp will not click, one replacement is the cage at Fallow Sanctuary, Swamp of Sorrows, about 61, 22. The book is A Luddite’s Guide to Caring for Your Demonic Pet, and it can be clicked through the bars. The road leaves Duskwood east through Deadwind Ravine, which is well above you.

Hand the last two to Owen at 20 and take the ring. Then ride south to Shadowfang.

Levels 1–13

Quest Tirisfal. It is a straight line from Deathknell to Brill and then around the zone. These are the three stops to not skip. Herbalism and Alchemy are the professions. First Aid is the healing potions, and the training stop is above.

Herbalism book: Marla’s Last Wish

Beta. Level 3 to pick it up. The quest itself is level 5. Finish The Damned first.

Who: Novice Elreth, in the Deathknell chapel. She also takes the turn-in.

What: Kill Samuel Fipps at the ruined camp on the road northeast of Deathknell. Loot Samuel’s Remains. Bury them at Marla’s Grave, first row of the Deathknell cemetery, near the gate. Go back to Elreth.

Reward: One of three books. Take Wild Harvest. It teaches Herbalism and starts you at 2 skill. You only get one. Turn on Herbalism tracking from Professions (P).

Alchemy is not in that choice. Train it from Carolai Anise in Brill. She stands next to Faruza, the herbalism trainer, about 59.8, 52. Faruza trains the higher herbalism ranks after the book. Healing potions are First Aid. Carolai does not teach them. Library book 1 is the shelf beside Apothecary Johaan, in this shop. The list is in Library books, above.

Space runs out fast once Herbalism is trained. Do not buy a set of bags. The warlock detour, below, mails four linen bags and one linen reagent bag. Herbs go in the reagent bag.

Campfire: The Great Outdoors

Beta. Around level 5, on the road from Deathknell to Brill. The published writeups do not name who gives it. You start by sitting at a campfire.

What: Sit there until the timer finishes. The follow-up sends you to train Cooking. Learning Cooking teaches the Basic Campfire. The trainer sells Simple Wood and Flint and Tinder. The fire is one Simple Wood, with the flint in your bags. Cook the Darkhound meat on that fire. Train Fishing the same day. The food is in Bonus experience, above.

Bag: Sticks and Bones

Beta. Level 4 to pick it up. The quest itself is level 7.

Who: Deathguard Bartholomew, in Brill. Turn it in to Eleanor Shackleton, at the white tent in the hills west of Brill.

What: He gives you a Collecting Basket. Loot 6 Dry Branches from the ground at the base of trees southwest of Brill. A cluster sits around 55.4, 55.5. They blend into the dirt. Sweep the mouse until the cursor turns into a gear. They respawn in about 30 seconds, so one cluster is enough. Decrepit Darkhounds patrol those trees. They drop Stringy Wolf Meat. Save it and cook it on the campfire. The food that adds kill experience is in Bonus experience, above.

Reward: The Collecting Basket stays in a bag slot. Six slots.

If a letter drops

Classic. A Scarlet can drop A Letter Undelivered. Click it and turn it in to Yvette Farthing in Brill. One hand-in. Do not farm Scarlets for it. The warlock is already killing them for linen.

Merchant’s Favor (10)

Beta. Crates can drop from level 10, including in Tirisfal. The turn-in is the first time you ride through the Crossroads. That is the sleeping bag trip, after Ruins of Lordaeron.

Right-click a Waylaid Crate to read the label. It locks into one shipment. You fill one bundle on that label, not every line. Right-click it again and give it the stack. Horde turn-in is Dokimi, Durotar Supply and Logistics, just south of the Crossroads, about 50.1, 29.4. The quest is A Sealed Crate. The camp is outside town, not in the inn. Grab the flight point, then walk south.

For alchemy, keep the herb crates. An Apprentice Herbs crate takes 20 Peacebloom or 20 Silverleaf. No profession is required to fill a herb crate. A textiles crate wants linen. In the beta, linen would not go in when the crate asked for 40, because linen stacks to 20. That was marked fixed in the next build. If a cloth crate still refuses the stack, fill a herb crate instead. Ore, bar, and parts crates want mining or engineering. Leave those, or send the cloth bolts to the warlock. Fabrics crates take 20 Bolt of Linen Cloth, and that character has Tailoring.

A white apprentice crate has been paying 5 Merchant’s Favor. A green one has been reported at 10. Do not vendor the green crates. The alchemy vendor stands in that same camp. The cheap priest recipes are 45 favor: Lesser Mageblood Elixir at skill 75, Lesser Cleric’s Elixir and Elixir of Lesser Intellect at 95, Lesser Arcane Elixir at 120. Spellblasting Potion is 45 favor at skill 135. The full list is on the commerce guide.

Detour at level 5: warlock wand

When the priest hits 5, stop and make an Undead warlock. Get that warlock to 5, craft a Lesser Magic Wand, four Linen Bags, and one Linen Reagent Bag, mail them to the priest, and leave the warlock at the Undercity bank.

The wand is the ranged slot. It is 12–22 Arcane, 1.50 speed. On the priest, train Wands from the priest trainer if you have not already, and drag Shoot out of the spellbook’s General tab onto the bar.

Classic. Forever has not published a different early wand. Do not take Wild Harvest on the warlock. Tailoring and Enchanting are both primary professions, and the book would spend one of those slots.

  1. Level the warlock to 5 on the same Deathknell quests. Skip the herbalism book.
  2. Kill Scarlet humans for Linen Cloth. The camp north of Deathknell drops it, and so do the farmers at Solliden Farmstead, west of Brill. About 60 cloth is the usual amount for the wand. Reaching Tailoring 45, four linen bags, and one reagent bag wants about 70 more. Hold back 36 cloth. Twenty-four is the bags. Twelve is the reagent bag.
  3. Go into Undercity. From Brill, the road south enters the ruins. Take the elevator down.
  4. Train Tailoring from Josef Gregorian, Magic Quarter, about 70.6, 29.6. Millie Gregorian, beside him, sells Coarse Thread. At Tailoring 5, buy Pattern: Linen Reagent Bag from her for 1 silver 50 copper.
  5. Train Enchanting from Lavinia Crowe, Apothecarium, about 62.4, 61.4. Both professions require level 5.
  6. Make Bolts of Linen Cloth until Tailoring is 30. Learn Brown Linen Robe from Josef. Each robe is 3 bolts and 1 Coarse Thread. Sew robes until Tailoring is 45. The robe stays orange until 50, so each one is a skill point. Leave the 36 cloth as cloth.
  7. Disenchant the robes. That raises Enchanting. Keep going until you have 1 Strange Dust and 2 Lesser Magic Essence. The dust is the common result. The essence is not, so nine robes is the usual start and you may need more. If that still leaves Tailoring under 45, sew more robes. Do not use the bag cloth.
  8. Buy 1 Copper Rod from an engineering supplier, and 1 Simple Wood from a trade goods vendor. At Enchanting 1, craft a Runed Copper Rod: the rod, the dust, and 1 essence. The rod stays in your bags. It is the tool, and it is not used up by the wand.
  9. At Enchanting 10, learn Lesser Magic Wand from Lavinia. Craft it with the rod in your bags, 1 Simple Wood, and the other essence.
  10. At Tailoring 45, learn Linen Bag from Josef. Bolt 24 of the held cloth and sew four bags. Each bag is 3 bolts and 3 Coarse Thread. Six slots. The bolts are green by then, and that is fine. Bolt the other 12 and sew one Linen Reagent Bag. It crafts at Tailoring 30. Six bolts and 6 Coarse Thread. Six slots. Herbs and the other crafting reagents go in it.
  11. Mail the wand and the bags to the priest. All of them are bind on equip. Leave the warlock at the bank in the Trade Quarter. The mailbox is beside it. That character is the bank mule from here on. Do not grind Enchanting any higher for a wand. The next recipes lose to the dungeon path under Wands. The wool bags are the level 20 detour, after the Deadmines.

Before the dungeons: Leonid’s Letter

Beta. Requires 10. The quests are level 13. Do this in Tirisfal once you are 10, before Ragefire Chasm.

Chain. The Argent Emissary — Deathguard Terrence, Brill, about 61, 53. He sends you southeast to Hadric Harlson, about 66, 61, where the road runs toward Undercity.

Hadric gives two quests on the same cultists, south of him, about 67 to 70, 63 to 67.

Turn both in to Hadric, then take Bandarion Keep from him. Leonid Barthalomew the Revered is at the keep, northwest Tirisfal, in the Whispering Wood, about 22, 45.

A Righteous Cause is the conversation between Leonid and Danitha Morr at the keep. Turn it in to Leonid.

He gives Leonid’s Letter. Carry the Sealed Letter to Glix Xizzix, Trade Quarter, Undercity, about 70, 47. Caster choice is Mug of Muddled Memories.

Levels 14–60

Scarlet Monastery is one courtyard in northeast Tirisfal. Its four wings are separate runs, listed when each wing’s band opens. Razorfen Kraul and Razorfen Downs are two caves in the southern Barrens. Blackrock Depths, Lower Blackrock Spire, and Upper Blackrock Spire are all inside Blackrock Mountain. Dire Maul East, West, and North are three doors in Eldre’Thalas, Feralas.

Classic keys are not confirmed for Forever. Before those trips, check the Crescent Key for Dire Maul, the Scholomance key, and the Key to the City for Stratholme. Upper Blackrock Spire used to be a 10-player wing locked by the Seal of Ascension from Lower Blackrock Spire.

1. Ragefire Chasm (14)

Go at 14. Band 13–18. Horde.

Ragefire Chasm is in the Drag, Orgrimmar.

Run. From Brill, after Leonid’s Letter.

  1. The zeppelin towers are northwest of Brill. Two dock there. Take the one to Orgrimmar, not the one to Grom’gol.
  2. It lands in Durotar, outside the city. Go in the gate to Orgrimmar.
  3. The instance is in the Drag.

Zone: Durotar, 1–10, Kalimdor.

Staves. Train them before you leave Orgrimmar. The trainer is in the back by the blacksmith. Staff of Orgrimmar is the caster choice on the last Hidden Enemies turn-in, and Shadowfang Keep is where the good two-hand staff drops start. You cannot equip either without the skill.

Fishing. Before you zone in. This is the second cooking break.

The pond throws about half Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper, about a quarter Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish, and the rest Raw Brilliant Smallfish. Shankys in the Valley of Honor sells Recipe: Rainbow Fin Albacore. Leave that scroll. Albacore is not in this pond, and she does not sell Longjaw.

Fish until Fishing is 75, then stop. Apprentice caps there. That covers this pond and the Barrens oases for the rest of the route. Leave the fishing rank at Apprentice.

Cook the Brilliant Smallfish until Cooking is 50. Train Journeyman Cooking from Zamja in the Drag, about 57, 53, for 5 silver. Apprentice Cooking stops at 75, and Longjaw stays orange until 90. If First Aid is 50, train Journeyman from Arnok before you leave Orgrimmar. The potion ranks are in Healing potions, above. Library book 2 is in his valley. The tablet is about 39, 78, by the Darkbriar Lodge sign. Trace it before you zone in.

Rahauro is on Elder Rise. Walk down from there and buy Recipe: Longjaw Mud Snapper from Naal Mistrunner, about 51, 52, for 4 silver. The scroll requires Cooking 50. If you see Varimathras first, Lizbeth Cromwell in the Magic Quarter sells the same scroll.

Cook snappers until you have two or three stacks of Longjaw Mud Snapper. Cooking lands near 90. Stop there, even while the recipe is still yellow. Bank any raw snappers still in the bags. Bank the catfish. The Bristle Whisker scroll can wait.

Horde quests

Beta. Two start in Orgrimmar, two in Thunder Bluff, and one in the Undercity. One more starts inside.

2. Hall of Thanes (14)

Go at 14. Band 13–18. Alliance. New.

Burial chambers beneath Ironforge. Entrance is not confirmed.

Run. From Orgrimmar. You are 14. Hillsbrad, Arathi, and the Wetlands are above you. Stay on the road. Do not fight.

  1. The zeppelin tower is in Durotar, outside the city. Take it back to Tirisfal Glades.
  2. South into Silverpine Forest (10–20). The road runs through the Sepulcher.
  3. South into Hillsbrad Foothills (20–30). Tarren Mill is the Horde camp. Grab the flight point.
  4. South through the gate in Thoradin’s Wall into Arathi Highlands (30–40). Do not climb the wall. Hammerfall is the Horde camp if you want that flight point.
  5. South across the Thandol Span into the Wetlands (20–30).
  6. Northwest to the Dun Algaz tunnel. You come out in Loch Modan (10–20), near 20, 63. Thelsamar is Alliance. Do not stop.
  7. North to the other tunnel, about 18, 16, into Dun Morogh.
  8. The road runs through Kharanos to the Ironforge gates. Guards will kill you. The burial chambers are under the city. The entrance is not confirmed.

Zone: Dun Morogh, 1–10, Eastern Kingdoms.

Horde quests

Beta. Wowhead’s dungeon guide says two quests are not Alliance-only. Both still start under Ironforge. The rest turn in to Alliance NPCs. Legacy Points unless you can reach Old Ironforge.

The Restless Dead, from Afadra Dunwall at the entrance, and The Treaty of Understanding, a vault in the Reliquary of Kings, are Alliance. Quest locations: Hall of Thanes.

3. Ruins of Lordaeron (15)

Go at 15. Band 15–20. Horde. New.

The ruined city of Lordaeron, above the Undercity.

Run. The same road back north.

  1. Out the Ironforge gates, south through Dun Morogh and the tunnel into Loch Modan.
  2. South through Dun Algaz into the Wetlands.
  3. North across the Thandol Span into Arathi Highlands.
  4. North through the gate in Thoradin’s Wall into Hillsbrad Foothills.
  5. North through Silverpine Forest into Tirisfal Glades.
  6. The ruins are the city above Undercity. The road in from Brill is the one you used at level 5.

Zone: Tirisfal Glades, 1–10, Eastern Kingdoms.

Horde quests

Beta. Six quests. Pick up the four outside ones before you zone in. Two start from loot and cannot be shared.

Do the sleeping bag detour below before Wailing Caverns. Library books 3 through 16 are on that ride. If you are short of 17 after it, the Barrens gap section is next.

Detour: Cozy Sleeping Bag

After Ruins of Lordaeron. Before Wailing Caverns. Horde starts in the Barrens. You have to be at least 14.

The clicks are objects on the ground. Do them in this order. Horde cannot see the Westfall click until the Barrens click is done.

The reward is the Cozy Sleeping Bag. The Season of Discovery walkthrough is here. The photo links are from that walkthrough.

Use the bag outside a city. It unfurls on the ground and is not clicked again. Walk onto it and do not move. Moving wakes you. You gain 1% bonus experience per minute, up to 3%. Forever lists a 1-hour cooldown. In Season of Discovery the buff lasted 2 hours. Logging out while you are asleep on it has counted as an inn for rested experience. Photo of sleeping on it. You also get a 12-slot bag, the Sturdy Lunchbox, and Student Fodder, food that grants a chunk of rested experience.

You will be low for Duskwood, the Wetlands, Hillsbrad, and Arathi. Stay on the road. Do not fight. The library books are the reason to step off it. Click the object and come back. Sentinel Hill, Menethil Harbor, and Thelsamar are Alliance towns.

1. …and that note you found

There are two pages for this name, 79007 and 79008. Horde starts at the Barrens object.

Where: Burned-Out Remains in the rubble of the burnt tower, south of Camp Taurajo, the Barrens, about 46, 74. The tower is just north of the junction where the road to Dustwallow Marsh leaves the main road. The click is a charred pile among bottles and a broken wheel, and the tooltip says Burned-Out Remains. Photo of the remains.

Run. From Brill, after Ruins of Lordaeron.

  1. The zeppelin towers are northwest of Brill. Two dock there. Take the one to Orgrimmar, not the one to Grom’gol.
  2. It lands in Durotar, outside Orgrimmar. Leave by the south gate.
  3. The road runs south through the Barrens (10–25). The Crossroads is the town in the middle. Camp Taurajo is farther south on that same road.
  4. The burnt tower is a short walk past the camp, about 46, 74. Grab the flight points at the Crossroads, Camp Taurajo, and Ratchet while you are here. Hand any sealed crates to Dokimi, just south of the Crossroads. That turn-in is in Merchant’s Favor, above. Do not hunt the named beasts on this walk. They are the gap section after the bag. Library book 3 is the Sludge Fen rig, east of the road before the Crossroads. After the tower, book 4 is the Dustwallow fork, and books 5 and 6 are the Great Lift and the Grimtotem tent west of it. Then go on to Ratchet.

2. Same quest, turned in at Westfall

Click the Burned-Out Remains in the wreckage of a cart at Alexston Farmstead, northeast Westfall, about 37, 50. The tooltip on the charred pile, under the broken planks, says Burned-Out Remains. Photo of the cart. That completes the note and offers Stepping Stones. You also get a Swiftness Potion and a Strong Troll’s Blood Potion.

Run. From the Crossroads. Duskwood is above you. Stay on the road. Do not fight.

  1. East to Ratchet. Take the boat to Booty Bay, on the south coast of Stranglethorn Vale.
  2. Follow the road north. It passes Grom’gol. Grab the flight point. The road leaves the zone into Duskwood (18–30).
  3. Take the west road into Westfall (10–20). The north road is Elwynn Forest. Do not take it.
  4. The farmstead is in the northeast of Westfall, about 37, 50, near the river border with Elwynn. Sentinel Hill, in the middle of Westfall, is Alliance. Do not go there. Library book 7 is beside Gazlowe, before the boat. Book 8 is the platform outside Crystalvein Mine. Book 9 is Raven Hill Crypt, off the Duskwood road. Moonbrook is book 18, on the Deadmines trip.

3. Stepping Stones

Where: Pocket Litter on a box by the tent in an abandoned camp, Stonetalon Mountains (15–27), about 40.6, 52.4. The path to the camp starts northeast of Sun Rock Retreat, about 50.9, 52.3. Photo of the camp.

Run. The same road back, then west from the Crossroads.

  1. East into Duskwood, south through Stranglethorn Vale to Booty Bay, boat to Ratchet, in the Barrens.
  2. From the Crossroads, take the west road. It enters Stonetalon Mountains (15–27) through the mountains on the west edge. The north road is Ashenvale. Do not take it.
  3. Sun Rock Retreat is the Horde camp. Grab the flight point. On the road north of that camp, as you leave the Webwinder Path, a path on the left starts about 50.9, 52.3. The camp with the litter is about 40.6, 52.4.

Turn-in gives Flint and Tinder, 3 Simple Wood, and the Sturdy Lunchbox, a 12-slot bag.

Optional, same camp. Rekindle is the campfire in the middle. Use the flint and the wood you just got. You can skip it. Photo of the campfire.

Accept Scramble.

4. Scramble

Where: A Mound of Dirt, still in Stonetalon, about 39.6, 49.8. From the camp, go straight north up the hill. From the edge you can see the mound on the ledge below. It is a short jump, not a new zone. Photo of the jump.

Run. Same hill in Stonetalon Mountains. North from the camp, then the short jump. Not a new zone.

Accept Wet Job. This step is where the Student Fodder starts. Season of Discovery gave 3 here. Library book 10 is next, before you leave the zone. South through the Charred Vale and west into Desolace. Thunder Axe Fortress. The bench is in Library books, above.

5. Wet Job

Where: A Carved Figurine on a ledge of the Stonewrought Dam, north Loch Modan (10–20), about 49.4, 12.9. The ledge faces the Wetlands. Look over the dam toward the Wetlands and jump onto the carved dwarf heads. The figurine is against the back wall of that ledge. Do not jump into the water. It is shallow, and the fall kills you. Photo of the ledge. Set your hearth in Tarren Mill before you climb the dam. Library books 14 and 15 are the loch, east to the ogre cave and south past Thelsamar into the Badlands. Do both before you hearth. Hearth to Tarren Mill after those two, or slide down the dam face if you can see a slope.

Run. From Stonetalon, back to the Eastern Kingdoms, then south to the dam. You are low for Hillsbrad, Arathi, and the Wetlands. Stay on the road. Do not fight.

  1. East into the Barrens, north to Orgrimmar. The zeppelin in Durotar goes to Tirisfal Glades.
  2. South into Silverpine Forest (10–20). The road runs through the Sepulcher. Library book 11 is Ambermill, east of the road. The tomb table near Sebastian Meloche is the Ataeric check.
  3. South into Hillsbrad Foothills (20–30). Tarren Mill is the Horde camp. Grab the flight point. Set your hearth here before the dam.
  4. South through the gate in Thoradin’s Wall into Arathi Highlands (30–40). Do not climb the wall. The last two clicks are up there. Library book 12 is Witherbark Village, southeast, before you go on to the Wetlands. Hammerfall is the flight point if you want it. Triage waits until 35.
  5. South across the Thandol Span into the Wetlands (20–30). Menethil Harbor is Alliance. Do not go into the harbor. Library book 13 is the urn at Whelgar’s, on the way to the dam.
  6. West across the Wetlands to the Stonewrought Dam. The dam is the west edge of the Wetlands and the north wall of Loch Modan (10–20).

Accept Eagle’s Fist. Turn-in is a Hickory Pipe and Rumsey Rum Light.

6. Eagle’s Fist, then This Must Be The Place

Where: Both clicks are on Thoradin’s Wall, the border of Hillsbrad and Arathi. The cart is on the Hillsbrad side, about 87.3, 49.6. Climb the cart onto the wall. Photo of the cart.

Run. From the dam, back to the wall.

  1. East across the Wetlands to the Thandol Span.
  2. North across the bridge into Arathi Highlands.
  3. North to Thoradin’s Wall. The gate is the road through the wall. On the Hillsbrad Foothills side, go north along the wall from the gate until the fallen cart, about 87.3, 49.6.

Climb the cart onto the wall, through the room, and out the far side. A Messenger Bag hangs outside on the right. Click it to finish Eagle’s Fist and accept This Must Be The Place. The Hastily Rolled-Up Satchel is on the ground under the bag. Click that. Photo of the bag and the satchel.

You receive the Cozy Sleeping Bag and 5 Student Fodder.

Run. You finish on the Hillsbrad side of the wall. Library book 16 is Gallows’ Corner, north of Tarren Mill. Wailing Caverns is next, in the Barrens.

  1. North through Hillsbrad Foothills and Silverpine Forest into Tirisfal Glades. Owen Thadd is in the Magic Quarter, about 74, 32. Hand in every library book in the bags. The tenth is the neck. The ring waits until 20.
  2. Zeppelin to Orgrimmar. It lands in Durotar. Leave by the south gate.
  3. The road south is the Barrens. The Crossroads is the town in the middle. The caverns are west of it.

If you are short of 17, do the gap section below first.

Gap experience: the Barrens

After the sleeping bag. Before Wailing Caverns. Optional. Use one or two when you are short of 17. The same list stays useful through 20, before Shadowfang, if a beast was red the first time. All four beasts are non-elite, in the low-to-mid 20s. If one is red, leave it and fly back to Camp Taurajo later. Each drop starts its own quest. Turn every one in to Jorn Skyseer at Camp Taurajo, about 45, 59. Experience and Thunder Bluff reputation. No gear.

Fly to Camp Taurajo. Do not stop the sleeping bag clicks for these.

The raptor Ishamuhale is a different quest. Jorn gives it to you after a longer hunt. Skip it.

The keg. Chen’s Empty Keg is an object, not a beast. One spawn is behind Camp Taurajo, about 45, 63. If it is not there, it is at another camp in the Barrens. Only some of the spots are up at once. Click it. Turn it in to Brewmaster Drohn in Ratchet, about 62.3, 38.4, on the ocean side of the Plate ‘n Chain, southwest of the bank. That hand-in is the easy one. He then asks for lion tusks, plainstrider kidneys, and a thunder lizard horn. Do that only if the parts are already in your bags.

Ratchet. The wanted poster by the bank starts WANTED: Baron Longshore. He is level 16, in a red coat, at one of three pirate camps on the coast south of Ratchet, toward Northwatch Hold. Kill him, bring the head to Gazlowe in Ratchet. The bank is the same one you passed taking the boat to Booty Bay. Fly back if you did not kill him then.

4. Wailing Caverns (17)

Go at 17. Band 17–24. Horde.

Wailing Caverns is the cave on the north side of the Lushwater Oasis, west of the Crossroads.

Run. The sleeping bag detour sends you back to the Barrens. From the Crossroads, take the west road to the Lushwater Oasis. The cave is on the north side of the water. Library book 17 is in that cave, by the portal, before you zone in.

Zone: The Barrens, 10–25, Kalimdor.

Horde quests

Beta.

The rare Deviate Faerie Dragon is sometimes already in the caverns. He drops Firebelcher, 20.3 dps. It replaces Sizzle Stick until Cookie. Do not wait on him.

5. The Deadmines (17)

Go at 17. Band 17–26. Alliance.

The Deadmines is the mine in Moonbrook. The instance door is inside the tunnel.

  3. In Duskwood, take the west road into Westfall (10–20).
  4. South to Moonbrook. The mine is in town. The instance door is inside the tunnel. Sentinel Hill, in the middle of Westfall, is Alliance. Do not go there. Library book 18 is the first house on the left as you enter, about 45, 70. Loot the spellbook before the mine. If book 8 or 9 is still on the Stranglethorn or Duskwood road, this is the same ride.

Zone: Westfall, 10–20, Eastern Kingdoms.

Horde quests

Beta. No Horde giver. The client does not faction-lock the Westfall and Stormwind quests, and you cannot talk to those NPCs. Legacy Points only.

Alliance chains, if you ever need the names: The Defias Brotherhood starts with Gryan Stoutmantle, Sentinel Hill. Underground Assault starts with Shoni the Silent, Dwarven District, Stormwind. Red Silk Bandanas is Scout Riell at the Sentinel Hill tower. Collecting Memories and Oh Brother… are Wilder Thistlenettle, Dwarven District. Destruction in Deadmines is new, and turns in to Alba Fairmoon.

Cookie, on the ship, drops Cookie’s Stirring Rod. Green wand, 22.3 dps. It replaces Sizzle Stick and Firebelcher.

Detour at level 20: warlock bags

After the Deadmines. The priest is around 20, and Shadowfang is 22. Level the warlock from 5 to 10, sew the wool bags, and leave the warlock at 10.

The warlock follows the Tirisfal quests in Levels 1–13. Skip the herbalism book. Stop at 10. The dungeons stay on the priest.

Mail the priest’s spare linen and wool to the warlock. The 36 cloth from the wand trip is still the linen bags, so do not spend it here. Silk drops off humanoids in the high 20s. Sew the wool bags on this stop. When a silk stack arrives in the mail, this same level 10 warlock can finish the pack.

Josef Gregorian is still the trainer, Magic Quarter, about 70.6, 29.6. Millie Gregorian, beside him, sells Fine Thread and the reagent pattern. Train Journeyman Tailoring from Josef once you are level 10 and Tailoring is 50. Five silver. Apprentice stops at 75. Journeyman raises the cap to 150, which is as high as the silk pack goes.

You are at Tailoring 45 from the wand.

  1. Linen Belt from Josef. One bolt and one Coarse Thread. Orange until 50, yellow until 67. Sew until 60. Train Journeyman when you pass 50.
  2. Reinforced Linen Cape at 60. Two bolts and three Coarse Thread. Yellow until 77. Sew until 75. This is the linen from the priest’s bank, not the 36 cloth.
  3. Bolt of Woolen Cloth at 75. Three wool cloth. Green at 77, gray at 85. About 60 wool cloth covers this stop: five bolts for the capes, twelve for four bags, three for the reagent bag. Make those bolts. Do not skill on bolts past 77.
  4. Woolen Cape at 75. One wool bolt and one Fine Thread. Orange until 80. Sew until 80.
  5. Woolen Bag at 80, from Josef. Eight slots. Three wool bolts and one Fine Thread. Sew four. They replace the linen bags.
  6. Woolen Reagent Bag. Eight slots. Herbs and the other crafting reagents go in it. This is the herbalism bag. Buy the pattern from Millie for 2 silver 50 copper once Tailoring is 70. Craft it at 75. Three wool bolts, one Fine Thread, and one Cerulean Dye. The priest makes the dye at Alchemy 50, from an alchemy trainer: two Frilled Lichen and one empty vial. The lichen comes off herbs as you pick them, Earthroot and above. The vial is on an alchemy vendor. It replaces the linen reagent bag.

Mail the wool bags to the priest. They are bind on equip.

Silk. Small Silk Pack is Tailoring 150, from Josef. Ten slots. Three Bolt of Silk Cloth, two Heavy Leather, and three Fine Thread. A leatherworker makes the leather, or you buy it. The bolt is Tailoring 125 and takes four silk cloth. Journeyman ends at 150, so the warlock stays at 10.

From 80 to 125, stay on wool. The cape stays yellow until 97. Heavy Woolen Gloves at 85 are yellow until 102: three wool bolts and one Fine Thread. Double-stitched Woolen Shoulders at 110 are yellow until 127: three wool bolts and two Fine Thread. Sew the shoulders to 125, then make silk bolts. If the bolts stop giving skill before 150, Azure Silk Pants at 140 stay yellow until 150. Learn the pack, sew up to four, and mail them.

Leave the warlock at the Undercity bank.

Gap experience: before Shadowfang

Shadowfang is 22. The warlock bag detour above comes first. Deadmines had no Horde quests, so this is the long gap. If you are already 22, skip this and pick up the keep quests at the Sepulcher.

The Barrens gap section is the first choice, through 20. Fly to Camp Taurajo and finish any beast that is still green.

If those four are red and you are still short, fly to Sun Rock. The poster on the road at about 59, 75 starts Arachnophobia. Besseleth is an elite spider in Sishir Canyon, just west of that poster. Turn the fang in to Maggran Earthbinder at Sun Rock. Skip her if the canyon comes with her.

At 20, take The Ashenvale Hunt from Jorn Skyseer at Camp Taurajo. Turn it in to Senani Thunderheart at Splintertree Post and accept his quest of the same name, The Ashenvale Hunt. The trophies do not drop until that quest is in your log. The three beasts are in the Ashenvale gap section, before the City of Dalaran. Library books 19 and 20 are this stop, and they close the ring. Book 19 is the Ruins of Mathystra, west across Ashenvale into Darkshore. Book 20 is Haldarr Encampment, east of Splintertree in Azshara. Then the zeppelin from Orgrimmar. Owen Thadd, Magic Quarter, about 74, 32, takes 19 and 20, and 17 and 18 if they are still in the bags. The quest turns in at 20. Take Philanthropist’s Ring.

6. Shadowfang Keep (22)

Go at 22. Band 22–30. Horde.

  2. North to Orgrimmar. The zeppelin in Durotar goes to Tirisfal Glades.

Run. From the Wetlands, back to Kalimdor.

  3. South gate, then the road south through the Barrens. From the Crossroads, take the north road into Ashenvale. The west road is Stonetalon.

Horde quests

Beta. Pick these up at Zoram’gar before you go in. One starts from loot inside.

9. The Stockade (24)

Go at 24. Band 24–32. Alliance.

The Stockade is in the Canals of Stormwind.

Run. From Zoram’gar, back to a boat, then the city. Guards will kill you in Stormwind.

  1. Fly to Ratchet if you have it. If you do not, the road east into the Barrens, then east to the port.
  2. Boat to Booty Bay. North through Stranglethorn Vale into Duskwood.
  3. Take the north road into Elwynn Forest. The west road is Westfall. Do not take it.
  4. Stormwind is the city at the north end of that road. The Stockade is in the Canals.

The client lists The Stockade Riots and Quell the Uprising from Warden Thelwater at the prison door, What Comes Around… from Guard Berton, Crime and Punishment from Councilman Millstipe, and The Color of Blood from Nikova Raskol. The Stockade Riots is a later step of the Deadmines letter chain.

Gap experience: Ashenvale

Before the City of Dalaran. You need 28. These stay useful through 30, before Scarlet Monastery graveyard, if one was red the first time. If you are already 28, skip this.

Same shape as Camp Taurajo. Non-elite. The pickup is in the Shadowfang gap section: Jorn at 20, then Senani Thunderheart at Splintertree. The trophies do not drop until Senani’s hunt is in your log. Click each trophy to start it, then turn it in to him. When all three are in, take The Hunt Completed from him. That one is another hand-in, no extra kill.

10. City of Dalaran (28)

Go at 28. Band 28–33. Both factions. New.

Southern Alterac Mountains, the city in the old Dalaran crater. The barrier is down. Nearest Horde camp is Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad, then north into Alterac.

  1. The Deeprun Tram is in the Dwarven District. Take it to Ironforge, in Dun Morogh.
  2. South through the tunnel into Loch Modan. Thelsamar is Alliance. Do not stop.
  3. South through Dun Algaz into the Wetlands.
